⚠️ STOP! READ YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE CAREFULLY BEFORE IT IS FINALIZED!
DO NOT ASSUME YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE IS CORRECT! CHECK EVERY SINGLE DETAIL!
Errors happen, and even information prepared by the court clerk can be incorrect. It is YOUR responsibility to carefully review your marriage license and make sure ALL information is accurate before it is finalized.
I CANNOT MAKE CORRECTIONS TO YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE. Once it has been issued or finalized, correcting an error can be a complicated, frustrating, and time-consuming process that will require you to contact the court clerk’s office directly.
CHECK IT NOW — NOT AFTER THE FACT!
Verify every name, spelling, date, and other detail on your license. Do not skim it, do not assume it is right, and do not skip this step. A few minutes of careful review now can save you significant time, stress, and expense later.
If, after the marriage license has been signed, a correction requires the Officiant to appear and/or re-sign a corrected marriage license, a $75.00 re-signing fee will apply. Any required re-signing will take place at a location reasonably convenient to the Officiant.
